NOTD: Nails Inc Havana (+ China Glaze White Cap)

As mentioned in a previous post, I said I managed to grab a hold of Nails Inc's Havana ^^
So here's the swatches:

With flash

The colour is really nice, it's a shimmery pink/fudge colour which is nice for day to day wear.
I also applied China Glaze's White Cap over it ~

With flash

Just to add extra shimmer to it ^^

NOTD: OPI Suzi Sells Sushi By the Seashore + China Glaze White Cap

I'm always finding nice OPI polishes on clearance whenever I go into Sally's these days. Last week I manged to find Suzi Sells Sushi By the Seashore for only £3.14!
Great bargain compared to the original price ^^

So here's what it looks like:

Opaque in 2 coats (with flash)

It's a lovely colour. A dark-ish metallic pink colour which is great for Summer ^^
I also decided to layer China Glaze's White Cap (also purchased when it was on clearence!) over Suzi Sells Sushi By the Seashore:

Applied only 1 coat (with flash)

I'd say it made the base colour slightly lighter as the polish in the bottle looks white. It adds shimmer to your base colour which is great if you want to add some glitter to your nail polishes!

A closer look at the shimmer

Excuse the brightness of the photo. It's supposed to be darker but the flash made it look brighter than usual ^^"

NOTD: China Glaze Knotty

So happy to be able to purchase my first China Glaze products yesterday ^^
I managed to pick up two - Knotty & White Cap - both from the Anchors Away collection at the price of £3.14 each!

So today I decided to wear Knotty ^^

With flash

Knotty is a sheer beige colour with shimmer in it. I applied three coats to make it look more opaque.
It's a really nice colour for a neutral polish with shimmer in it. Great for day-to-day wear ^^

NOTD: Nails Inc. Fashion Fawn

Yay for freebies! ^^
I got this Nails Inc. polish from InStyle's magazine which I blogged about in a previous post (I also got Electric Teal).
It's a lovely brown/beige colour which is similar to Barry M's Mushroom but I think it's nicer as it's not as dark ~

It's a really nice colour. Maybe a colour for Autumn? I'm not sure ^^

What do you think?

CHANEL LE VERNIS: Miami Peach, Inattendu + Paradoxal (swatches)

L-R: Miami Peach, Inattendu + Paradoxal

I'm very happy to have purchased my first Chanel nail lacquers today! As you can see, I purchased 3 nail lacquers ^^

Swatches

L-R: Paradoxal (1 coat), Inattendu (2 coats) + Miami Peach (2 coats)

Barry M's Dusky Mauve is a dupe of Chanel's Paradoxal + I never knew that until a friend of mine told me. Nonetheless, it'll be a great colour for Autumn/Winter.
Inattendu is a peachy nude colour which is great for daily wear + for all seasons! It has no shimmer in it + has great coverage with 2 coats!
Miami Peach is a pinky orange colour which will be great for Spring/Summer. It has some shimmer in it which creates a nice effect.

Overall? Very happy with my purchases ^^
I decided to go out of my comfort zone with Paradoxal as most of my nail polishes are all neutral colours ~

Review + Swatch: Maybelline New York Gel Eyeliner (01 Intense Black)

I'm sure many of you's have heard of Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner and all the good reviews it has received. However, as I didn't want to spend so much on a tiny pot of gel eyeliner, I decided to opt for Maybelline's new gel eyeliner!

RRP: £7.99

I think the packaging looks similar to Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner apart from the cap. The gel is in a small glass tub and secured with a metal cap. It also comes with a brush too which is really useful!

A closer look at the brush + the gel

I decided to try it out + what are my thoughts? It's super easy to apply on! I thought it would be quite difficult + awkward to apply on at first but I was wrong. The brush makes it super easy to apply as you can have thick or thin strokes which is really good!
Here's the outcome:

I wouldn't say the colour is 'intense black' with one stroke but you could always add on more layers to make the colour more black.

Product: 9/10
Pigmentation: 8/10
Texture: 9/10
Application: 10/10
Packaging: 10/10

Overall? Highly recommended for those looking for a gel liner!

NOTD: Nude Shatter/Crackle Nail Polish (ft. OPI Teenage Dream)

There seems to be A LOT of crackle polishes these days & I love them! Quick + easy nail art in less than what, 2 minutes?
Anyway, I managed to find a nude coloured crackle polish while on holiday in Hong Kong + here's what it looks like applied over OPI's Teenage Dream!

The crackle polish is from the brand 'Dark Tina Angel'. It's a japanese brand which is probably why I've never heard of/seen swatches of these crackle polishes before!

What do you guys think of the nude crackle polish?

OPI Nail Polish Haul + Swatches

I haven't blogged for quite a while now + I'm sorry for that. Been a bit busy with school work etc as exams are coming up after the Easter Holidays.
Anyway, moving on to the main subject. I have an OPI haul! I managed to grab a few OPI goodies on sale in Sallys yesterday ^^

OPI ~ My Daddy's the King!
RRP: £8.99 £3.49

OPI Princess Minis
RRP: £12.15 £4.49
L-R: Bubble Bath, Alpine Snow, Pink-ing of You, RapiDry Top Coat

Great bargains don't cha think? ^^

Swatches:

OPI My Daddy's the King!

This is a shimmery pink/nude colour. Applied with 2-3 coats so I would say it's not very sheer! Great for those who love pinks or nudes + love a bit of shimmer ^^

L-R: Alpine Snow, Pink-ing of You, Bubble Bath

You can actually use Alpine Snow as a tip for French manicure but I decided to do apply it onto my nail to see what it would look like on it's own. It's quite nice, but a little too bold for me ^^
Pink-ing of You is quite similar to Nails Inc's Warwick Avenue. It's a cute pink colour, great for pink lovers!
Bubble Bath is a very sheer nude. Probably not as sheer as OPI's Samoan Sand though. It's a great nude, great for daily wear.

I hope I don't start an OPI addiction... I'm starting to become really interested in OPI nail polishes these days!
What's your favourite OPI nail polish?

NOTD: OPI Last Friday Night (Katy Perry Collection)

Okay, I was 'attempting' to not put any nail polish onto my nails till I go to Hong Kong which is 2-3 weeks away but I just couldn't help myself! I managed only two days with nothing on my nails + I just had the sudden urge to repaint my nails today.
So this is what I'm wearing!

Last Friday Night
From OPI's Katy Perry Collection

Last Friday Night is a very sheer blue glittery polish. I would probably apply this over a light blue polish next time but I currently don't have any light blue polishes.
If you'd rather wear this on it's own, you would have to apply A LOT of coats for the blue to turn out. Although it may look very blue in the bottle, it is very sheer so don't be fooled if you want a visible blue glittery polish!

Overall, I don't mind it. The color is okay, great for applying over other colors though ^^

What do you think of Last Friday Night?

NOTD: Nails Inc Caramel

Nails Inc: Caramel

I love this nail polish, it was part of Nails Inc's Diet Coke promotion in Boots a while ago. I would say it's a beige/nude color which is something that I like as I'm always wearing nude colored nail polishes these days.

I would say it dries pretty quickly! It also gives fabulous shine + a nice caramel color in just two coats! It's great for everyday wear as it's a nice neutral colour ^^

Revlon Matte Nude Attitude lipstick (+ swatches + comparisons)

I picked up Revlon's Matte lipstick in Nude Attitude on Thursday as I've been looking for a matte-ish nude lipstick for a while. It's on offer for £5.49 instead of £7.49 in Boots + Superdrug at the moment so if you want it, you better hurry!

Left with flash, right with no flash

I quite like the colour + effect of it. It really does give you a nude colour + matte finishing look. I would probably tell a friend about it if they were looking for a nude lipstick too! All in all, I'm happy with it ^^

Comparison:

I've decided to compare Revlon's Matte Nude Attitude lipstick to two other nude lipsticks which are:
  • Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipstick in Pinky Beige
  • Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipstick in Luminous Beige

L-R: Revlon Nude Attitude, Maybelline Pinky Beige, Maybelline Luminous Beige

Top-bottom: Revlon Nude Attitude, Maybelline Pinky Beige, Maybelline Luminous Beige

The colours of the three lipsticks are quite similar but are only just about one or two shades darker/lighter. I would say Maybelline's Pinky Beige has more of a pinky tone towards it compared to the other two though.

 Maybelline Pinky Beige

Left with flash, right with no flash

As you can see, Maybelline's Pinky Beige has more of a pink tone towards it. This is great for adding colour onto your lips or just daily wear!

Maybelline Luminous Beige

Left with flash, right with no flash

I would say Maybelline's Luminous Beige is slightly the same as Revlon's Nude Attitude as the colors are quite similar. The two Maybelline lipsticks are more moisturizing compared to the Revlon's lipstick.

L-R: Revlon Nude Attitude, Maybelline Pinky Beige, Maybelline Luminous Beige

Which one do you prefer best? (=
Thanks for reading!

OPI Katy Perry Collection (+ Swatches)

I went to 'Sally Beauty Supply' on Monday hoping to grab a few goodies from there that day. I ended up walking out the shop with OPI's Katy Perry Collection (the mini nail lacquers). I was going to buy the regular size of 'Teenage Dream' but I decided to buy the mini collection instead as there was more variety  ^^

L-R: The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night + Not Like the Movies
RRP - £12.98

Swatches:

Not Like the Movies

I've seen swatches of this nail polish before I got the collection + I didn't really like it. But after swatching it, I absolutely love it. It's a shimmery metallic purple/green + looks great!

The One That Got Away

This isn't really my cup of tea but it is nice. I probably wouldn't really wear this as I'm not a major hot pink lover. However, those who love pinks, this is great! It's a shimmery hot pink ^^

Teenage Dream

I loved this nail polish ever since I first saw swatches of it. It's a sheer pink with silver glitters on it which is great for special occasions. Also, you could probably apply this over a nail polish to make it more glittery + sparkly ~

Last Friday Night

This is slightly the same as Teenage Dream but a sheer blue instead. You need to apply at least 2 thick coats for the blue to come out as it's VERY sheer. Again, you could apply this on top of a nail polish for a glittery  shimmery effect ^^

I didn't purchase OPI's Black Shatter (which is also part of the Katy Perry Collection) as I already have Barry M's Nails Effect. They're both basically the same (=

What do you think of OPI's Katy Perry Collection?
